Cór Geal was established in 2009, by Betty Fitzgerald, Musical Director. Cór Geal is a four- part mixed adult choir, whose repertoire consists of a broad genre of music such as sacred, popular, and gospel to name but a few. The choir has approximately 52 members, and is based in Whitechurch, Co. Cork, Ireland

Cór Geal embraces male and female singers of all ages and from all walks of life, holding weekly interactive rehearsals, underlining their core values of mindfulness and community inclusion.

Betty Fitzgerald Musical Director – “Nothing activates as many areas of the brain as music. Singing is a stimulating experience which triggers all sorts of positive energy in the mind and body, and social interaction is the best way to shake off the blues. Put it all together, and you get Cór Geal singing at its best.”

Cór Geal has helped raise funds for organisations such as ACT (Aid Cancer Treatment), St. Vincent de Paul and the Motor Neuron Society of Ireland as well as many community-based projects

With a spirit of togetherness, we value and respect diversity, create a positive and fun experience for our members and most of all promote harmony in our community and wider society“

Cór Geal is indebted to The Community Foundation for Ireland for the grant aid monies, which support our ability to produce our virtual performances”
